Rigid framework of standard solutions

If the world were perfect, each plot would have perfect dimensions, perfect sunlight from the south and exactly as much space as needed for two cars. The reality, however, looks different. When Małgorzata and Paweł from a residential estate near Warsaw decided to buy a photovoltaic carport, they quickly collided with brutal reality.

“We were offered structures with rigid dimensions of 5×6 meters or 6×6 meters. Our lot is narrow and such a carport would occupy almost the entire width of the driveway. Worse, none of the company representatives could propose a solution tailored to our situation,” recalls Małgorzata.

The problem that Margaret and Paul faced is a common one. Standard photovoltaic carports are almost always rigid structures with predetermined dimensions. These projects are created with the “average user” in mind - someone who probably never existed and will not exist.

This approach causes the owners of land plots to face several significant challenges:

First, the dimensions. The carport must fit into the available space, without interfering with other elements of the environment - a fence, paths, plantings or elements of small architecture. Standard sizes often force compromises that translate into a loss of functionality or aesthetics.

Secondly, orientation to the sides of the world. In the case of carports with photovoltaic panels, the key issue is the direction in which the roof faces. The panels should be positioned optimally relative to the sun to maximize energy production. Meanwhile, a standard carport typically offers only one roof pitch configuration.

“We learned that our carport will produce up to 30% less energy because we can't position it perfectly south. The seller spread his hands saying that nothing can be done about it,” adds Paweł.

The third problem is the issue of aesthetics and consistency with the existing architecture. When we invest in a house, we take care of its exterior appearance. Meanwhile, the standard carport often looks like a foreign element added to a thoughtful whole - it does not fit stylistically, proportions or color scheme.

Dr. Tomasz Wiśniewski, an architect specializing in energy-efficient construction, notes: “The carport should be an extension of the architectural concept of the house, not an accidental element. Unfortunately, most of the solutions available are mass products that are difficult to integrate into an individual project.”

In addition, there is the question of the future-proofness of the installation. What if in a year or two we decide on a second car? Or do we want to expand the system with an energy storage facility? Standard carports offer little expandability, which means that when needs change, you often have to invest in a completely new design.

The result of these limitations is frustration and disappointment. Customers either abandon the purchase or agree to compromises that later result in dissatisfaction with the investment. And yet the photovoltaic carport is a solution that should serve for years, please the eye and produce energy efficiently.

Modularity — the key to universal adaptation

Carport Premium introduces a whole new approach to photovoltaic canopy design. Instead of offering a finished product, a system of modules has been created that can be freely combined and configured — like building blocks for adults.

“We designed Carport Premium with the real needs and limitations of our customers in mind,” explains Marta Kowalska, chief designer at Electrotile. “We knew that standard solutions did not work in many cases. Each plot is different, each house is different, each owner has different priorities. Our system takes that into account.”

What is unique about the modular Carport Premium system? First of all, on the revolutionary possibility of connecting modules in different ways.

The basic Carport Premium module has a width of 3 meters and a length of 5.5 meters - dimensions perfectly suited to a medium-sized car. It is from this module that the magic of personalization begins. The modules can be joined with the sides, creating wider canopies for two or more cars. Importantly, when connecting modules side by side, the design uses common poles at the boundary of the modules. That is, on each additional module we save on structural elements.

“We originally thought of two separate single-seater carports, each 3 meters wide. Consultant Electrotile showed us that thanks to the modular system we can not only save money on additional poles, but also get an elegant, uniform structure instead of two separate buildings,” recalls Jakub, owner of a single-family house in Krakow.

However, the real revolution lies in the possibility of placing the modules “back to each other”. That is, we can set the carport so that the panels face in opposite directions. This solution is ideal for properties where it is not possible to position the structure exactly to the south. Thanks to this configuration, we can have, for example, one module facing east and the other facing west — thus maximizing energy production at different times of the day.

Electrotile engineers, however, went one step further. Carport Premium offers three different roof pitch configurations:

  • forward slope (towards the entrance of the car)
  • Backward slope (from the entrance of the car)
  • flat roof

This solution gives great flexibility in adapting the structure to the directions of the world. If the entrance to the property is from the south, we can apply a roof slope to the rear, directing the panels optimally to the south. If the entrance is from the north — choose the slope forward. In special cases, e.g. when the carport is arranged between buildings, we can use a flat roof.

“It's like discovering a new dimension of possibilities,” comments Adam Nowak, a specialist in photovoltaic installations. “Previously, with standard carports, we had to put up with a loss of efficiency if the layout of the plot did not allow for an ideal setting. Now we can adapt the design to specific conditions, optimizing energy production in almost any situation.”

The Carport Premium modular system is the answer to the needs of property owners who do not want to compromise on functionality, aesthetics or energy efficiency. This is a revolutionary approach that takes photovoltaic carport technology to a whole new level.

Benefits that change the rules of the game

The modular design of Carport Premium is not only an interesting innovation, but above all a source of practical benefits for users. Let's take a look at how the flexibility of the project translates into real advantages for the owners.

Anna and Marcin from a village near Krakow were struggling with the unusual shape of the plot — narrow at the front, widening in depth. “We had room for a carport, but no standard model fit our space. Thanks to the modular Premium system, we were able to order a structure that makes perfect use of the available space, without wasting even a centimeter,” says Anna.

Their case perfectly illustrates the first and most important benefit: perfect fit into the available space without functional compromises. Whether you have a narrow plot or an unusually located house, the modular system allows you to create a solution tailored to your spatial needs.

Another key advantage is maximizing energy production regardless of the spatial orientation of the property. How does it work in practice? Michał, a resident of Piaseczno near Warsaw, explains: “My house is arranged so that the longest wall and entrance are from the east. When I talked to representatives of other companies, I heard that I have to reckon with a loss of 20-30% of potential energy production due to a suboptimal setting. With the Carport Premium system, we used a south-facing roof slope, which increased the efficiency of energy production by more than 25% compared to what standard solutions offered.”

It is the ability to choose the direction of the roof slope that makes Carport Premium a future-oriented solution, adapted to real conditions rather than theoretical assumptions.

The third important benefit is the possibility of expanding the system in the future. “We started with one module for one car,” says Krzysztof from Gdynia. “After a year we bought a second car and delivered the second module. The whole process took one day — no need to replace the entire structure, no mess, no additional foundation work. We just added another piece to the puzzle.”

This modularity means that the investment is safe — even if your needs change in the future, the system can adapt to them, eliminating the need for a complete replacement of the structure.

The fourth advantage, especially relevant for multi-site canopies, is economical use of structural elements. Connecting the modules with the sides, we use common columns on their borders. This is not only material and cost savings, but also an aesthetic gain — fewer structural elements for a cleaner, more minimalist look.

The fifth benefit is flexibility of arrangement of parking space. The modular system makes it possible to create unusual configurations — for example, an L-shaped carport around the corner of a building or a structure with modules set back to each other, forming a parking space on two sides.

“We have an unusually located plot with an entrance from the north-east,” says Joanna from the vicinity of Wrocław. “Thanks to the modular system, we have created a carport, which on the one hand serves us for parking and on the other creates a covered recreational space. The panels on both sides are optimally positioned relative to the sun.”

The sixth, and no less important, advantage is visual consistency even with complex configurations. Whether you choose a single module or a complex structure of several elements, the whole looks like a well-thought-out, uniform solid, rather than a random collection of connected elements.

“When making professional visualizations for investors, I always emphasize the importance of architectural consistency,” explains Agnieszka Kowalczyk, landscape architect. “The modular Carport Premium system is one of the few solutions on the market that allows you to maintain clean lines and spatial harmony even with complex layouts.”

The modularity of Carport Premium is not just an advertising slogan — it is a thoughtful design approach that brings tangible benefits to users. It's a system that adapts to your needs and space, rather than forcing you to compromise. In a world where every plot and every house is different, this is exactly the approach that conscious investors expect.
