“Sometimes the best decisions are made at the last minute,” says Michał, owner of this unique house near Nałęczów. “When the architect showed us a sample of the eTile Flat system, we knew immediately that this was the solution we were looking for.”
The challenge: maintain character, gain modernity
The old stone house needed a thorough modernization. The Kowalski family, a young couple working in the IT industry, wanted to create a space combining the charm of traditional construction with modern technological solutions. “Initially, we planned a standard sheet for the hem and a traditional photovoltaic installation,” recalls Agata, Michał's wife. “However, we wanted to maintain a clean roofline that would not distort the character of the building.”
Breakthrough: the discovery of eTile Flat
“It was a coincidence,” laughs Michael. “We were already committed to the traditional solution when our architect returned from the construction fair with a sample of the eTile Flat system. The difference in price was only about 10% compared to the combination of a standard sheet metal with a photovoltaic installation, but the visual effect was incomparable.”
Realization process
The renovation included a thorough reconstruction of the house with the preservation of the original stone facade made of sandstone. The eTile Flat system perfectly complemented the modernist upper floor, creating a harmonious whole with large glazing and a black steel railing.
“The Electrotile supervisor was with us at every stage of the project,” recalls Agata. “We especially appreciated their attention to detail - the way the windows were finished, the precise sheet metal treatments, perfectly matched active and inactive panels.”
Living under a smart roof
“The house produces more energy than we need,” says Michał. “The 9.8 kWp eTile Flat system combined with the Breeze energy storage makes us practically energy self-sufficient. And the best part is that the technology remains invisible - guests are often surprised to learn that our roof is a solar power plant.”
