Resistance to extreme weather conditions

eTile solar roofs have undergone a series of rigorous strength tests, simulating the most extreme weather conditions that can occur in our climate. We have paid special attention to hail resistance - our modules are tested using hail balls the size of golf balls. Thanks to the use of specially tempered glass with a thickness of 4mm, the modules are able to withstand hail impacts up to 25mm in diameter.

The eTile mounting system is designed for extreme wind conditions. Each module is doubly protected - by a special binder and mechanical fasteners, which prevent the panels from slipping even during strong winds. In stress tests, eTile roofs withstand loads of up to 5400 Pa, which corresponds to a pressure of several tens of centimeters of snow or gusts of wind with a speed of more than 130 km/h.

Electrical Safety

The safety of the electrical installation in eTile roofs is based on several key elements:

  • All wires are conducted in steel cable trays located between the patches, which protects them from mechanical damage and rodent access
  • The system uses certified MC4 connectors from the Swiss company Stäubli, recognized as the safest in the industry
  • The installation is equipped with a multi-level security system, including fire breakers and overcurrent protection

Certificates and research

eTile solar roofs have all the necessary certificates confirming their safety:

  • BROOF certificate (t1) confirming non-proliferation of fire
  • TÜV certificates confirming compliance with electrical safety standards
  • CERBUD certificates for mechanical resistance and tightness
