Costs and financing of solar fences

Cost structure of the eFence system
When considering an investment in the eFence system, it is a good idea to carefully analyze all the cost components. Unlike traditional fences, where we mainly deal with the cost of materials and installation, the eFence system combines fencing and photovoltaic functions, which affects the structure of expenses, but also translates into greater long-term benefits.
The main cost element is the bays of the eFence system. A standard span with a width of 2 meters with four active panels (total power 640Wp) costs about 4100 PLN net. It is worth remembering that not all spans have to be active - where there is no adequate sunlight, we can use cheaper inactive spans at a price of about 2600 PLN net, while maintaining the identical appearance of the fence.
Added to this are the system posts, which are available in two variants: standard (460 PLN net) and in the version with LED lighting (400 PLN net). When planning costs, it should be taken into account that there is one post for each span, plus one additional at the end of the row.
Gates and wickets are also an important element. A sliding gate with a width of 5 meters costs about PLN 12900 net, while a standard gate with a width of 1 meter costs about PLN 3000 net. These elements, although photovoltaic inactive, are designed in the same style as the rest of the system, ensuring a coherent appearance of the whole.
Installation costs depend on the terrain conditions and the selected configuration. The basic installation of the fence is about PLN 86 net per running meter. To this must be added the installation of the wicket (171 PLN net) and the gate (2143 PLN net). If foundation work is needed, the cost of the screed with reinforcement is about PLN 429 net per running meter.
For example, for a typical plot requiring 50 meters of fence, with one gate and a gate, the total cost of the eFence system with 60% of active spans can amount to about PLN 150-180 thousand net. This is more than a standard fence, but let's remember that at this price we get not only an aesthetic fence, but also an efficient photovoltaic installation with a capacity of about 8-10 kWp.
Funding and support opportunities
The investment in eFence may seem significant at first, but the support programs available can significantly reduce the initial costs. Let's take a look at the opportunities available that can help finance this investment.
The key support is the “My Current 6.0" program, which offers funding for photovoltaic installations. The eFence system, as an innovative BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) solution, is eligible for this program. The maximum amount of the grant can reach up to PLN 23,000. Importantly, to receive funding, the installation must have a minimum capacity of 2 kWp and be connected to the power grid.
An additional benefit is the possibility of taking advantage of the thermomodernization relief. It allows you to deduct from the tax base the costs related to the photovoltaic installation up to PLN 53,000. With a standard tax rate of 17%, this means savings of up to 9010 PLN. It is worth remembering that the relief can be used by owners of single-family houses who settle according to the tax scale.
For those who need external financing, Electrotile works with several banks offering preferential loans for photovoltaic systems. The process is simplified as much as possible - a credit decision can be received in up to 30 minutes via a mobile application. Installments can be spread over up to 10 years, which allows you to adjust the monthly load to your financial capabilities.
Special financing programs are also available to developers. In the case of larger residential projects, it is possible to obtain preferential terms of purchase and extended payment terms. In addition, developers can benefit from support in the preparation of marketing materials and visualization, which helps in the sale of apartments with the eFence system.
Economics and return on investment
When planning an investment in the eFence system, it is worth looking not only at the initial costs, but above all at the long-term financial benefits. Let's analyze exactly how such an investment translates into real savings and an increase in the value of real estate.
Take, for example, a typical eFence installation with a length of 50 meters, of which 60% are active spans. Such a configuration can provide a power of about 8-10 kWp, which translates into an annual energy production of 8000-10000 kWh. At current electricity prices (around PLN 0.85 per kWh), this means annual savings of PLN 6800-8500. From year to year, this amount will increase with the expected increases in energy prices.
The eFence system also has a positive impact on the value of real estate. Market research shows that houses equipped with integrated photovoltaic systems sell on average 5-7% more expensive than similar properties without such solutions. In the case of a house worth PLN 1 million, this means an increase in value by PLN 50-70 thousand. Aesthetic solutions that do not disturb the architecture of the building are especially appreciated.
Taking into account the subsidies from the “My Power” program, the thermal modernization relief and the annual energy savings, the payback period of the investment in the eFence system is about 7-8 years. This is much shorter than the 25-year warranty on the system. After the payback period, every subsequent year is already pure savings. It is also worth remembering that, unlike a traditional fence, which only generates costs, the eFence system actively works on its value by producing electricity.
It is also worth considering the trend of rising electricity prices. At the current rate of increase in prices (on average 15-20% per year), the savings generated by the system will be greater and greater, which will further shorten the real payback period.
