Overheating protection

Effectiveness in blocking heat is one of the most important characteristics of a solar system. In this category, outdoor blinds are best suited, which can retain up to 90% of the thermal energy. Zip-screen systems achieve efficiency at the level of 80-85%, and facade blinds 75-85%.

Important: Indoor blinds or blinds are much less effective - they retain only about 20-30% of the heat, since the sun's rays will already have time to pass through the glass and turn into heat inside the room.

Weatherproof

In the Polish climate, the system must be resistant not only to the sun, but also to wind and rain. In this category, the undisputed leader are zip-screen systems, which, thanks to their unique design, withstand winds of up to 120 km/h. This is almost three times more than for facade blinds, which need to be rolled up already in winds of 40-45 km/h.

Outdoor blinds rank in the middle with wind resistance up to about 80 km/h. However, they are the ones that best protect against rain and noise, which can be relevant in some locations.

An example from life: Consider a house located in an open area, where strong gusts of wind often occur. In this case, the facade blinds could require frequent rolling, which would significantly reduce their effectiveness. The zip-screen system, on the other hand, will work reliably even in strong winds, providing constant protection from the sun.

The ability to control the light

Controlling the amount of light entering is a key aspect of comfort of use. Facade blinds offer the greatest flexibility here - we can precisely adjust the angle of the lamellas, adjusting the amount of light to our needs. The zip-screen systems, thanks to the different degrees of permeability of the fabric (from 1% to 10%), allow you to choose a constant level of light transmission suitable for a particular room.

External blinds give the least possibilities in this regard - practically we only have the option to open or close completely. This can be problematic in spaces where we care about natural light while protecting against overheating.

Privacy and outdoor visibility

It is in this category that zip-screen systems show their advantage. They are the only ones that allow you to preserve the view of the outside while providing privacy during the day. This is possible thanks to the special design of the technical fabric, which works similarly to tinted glass - from the outside you can not see what is happening inside, while the people in the room can freely observe the surroundings.

Practical tip: When choosing a fabric for a zip-screen system, it is worth considering the time of day when the room is most sunny. For east and west windows, you can choose a fabric with a higher permeability (eg 5-10%), while for southern windows a fabric with a lower permeability (1-3%) will work better.
