Maintenance and use of zip-screens - a practical guide

Daily operation
Your zip-screen is designed for everyday, intensive use. The technical fabric used in the system is characterized by exceptional durability and resistance to weather conditions. Still, it is worth adhering to a few basic rules.
First of all, avoid curling wet fabric - let it dry in the unfolded position. Wet fabric rolled on a roller can become deformed or dirty over time. In case of strong wind (above 90 km/h for zip-screens), we recommend that you roll up the curtain to avoid excessive load on the system.
Cleaning and care
Regular cleaning will help preserve the aesthetic appearance of the zip-screen and extend its service life. Use lukewarm water with a mild detergent and a soft brush or sponge to clean the fabric. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents and solvents that could damage the protective coating of the fabric.
Pay special attention to the side guides - regularly remove sand and other debris from them that could interfere with the smooth operation of the system. It is enough to wipe them with a damp cloth once a quarter.
Periodic reviews
In order for the system to work reliably for years, we recommend that you carry out regular inspections. Twice a year (preferably in spring and autumn) it is worth checking:
- Fabric tension in the guides
- Operation of the motor and control system
- Condition of fasteners and structural elements
- Cleanliness of guides and cassette
If you notice any irregularities, contact an authorized service center. Attempts to repair yourself may result in loss of warranty.
Preparing for winter
Despite the fact that zip-screens are resistant to harsh weather conditions, it is worthwhile to properly prepare them for the winter season. In the fall, carry out a thorough cleaning of the entire system. Check the condition of the seals and connections to make sure that no water enters the mechanism.
In winter, you can use the system normally, however, avoid operating it in icy conditions - this can damage the mechanism or engine. If you notice icing on the guides, wait until the ice melts before starting the curtain.
Solving common problems
Sometimes you may encounter minor problems in the operation of the system. Here are the most common of them and ways to solve them:
The system does not respond to the remote control? Check the batteries in the remote and make sure the power is connected. If this does not help, you may need to reprogram the remote.
Does the fabric wrinkle when rolled up? This may indicate a deregulation of the engine ends or a problem with the guides. Contact the service for adjustment.
Noise during operation? Clean the guides and check that no foreign objects have entered them. If the noise persists, it may be necessary to adjust or replace the mechanical components.
Remember that proper maintenance is the key to long-term and trouble-free operation of your zip-screen. If in doubt, you can always consult our technical department, who will be happy to help you solve any problem.
