When you look at a traditional photovoltaic installation, you will notice a tangle of wires running under the panels. These conduits are often carried in plastic sheath tubes, which over time collapse under the influence of UV radiation. In some cases, the wires aresimply tied with clamps to the structure - this is a solution thathas the right to make any electrician shudder.

The problem becomes even more serious ifwe consider the conditions in which these wires have to work. On a sunnysummer day, the temperature on the roof can exceed 70 degrees Celsius. Winterpipes are exposed to extreme frosts, often combined with moisture, which can lead to corrosion. In addition, there is a mechanical interactionsnow and ice, which can damage the insulation.

Moreover, standard solutions oftenignore the issue of separation of wires from the wooden roof structure andflammable membrane. In the event of an electrical breakdown or overheatingpipes, such direct contact can pose a serious fire hazard.And this is not just a theoretical risk - in recent years, manycases of fires of photovoltaic installations caused byimproper wiring have been recorded.

Especially dangerous are the places of connectionperitoneum. In traditional installations, the connectors are often located directlyunder the panels, where they are exposed to water and variable temperatures. Meanwhile, this can lead to corrosion and loosening of connections, which in turn increasesthe risk of electric arc formation - one of the most common causes of firesphotovoltaic installations.

In our laboratory, we have carried out a series of tests simulating the accelerated aging of traditional installations. The results were alarming - after a period of 5-7 years of operation, many standard solutions showed signs of serious degradation. This led us to search for a completely new approach to the safety of the electric roof.

Innovative SafeCore Solution - Inspired by the Aerospace Industry

When we started designing the SafeCore system, we were inspired by the aerospace industry. In airplanes, electrical wiring can operate reliably in extreme conditions for decades, and at the same time meet the highest safety standards. Interestingly, similarchallenges are faced by installations on the roof.

At the heart of the SafeCore system are specially designed aluminum troughs with ventilation system. The material is not accidental - aluminum not only provides excellent mechanical protection, but also perfectly dissipates heat. Thanks to this, the wires never overheat, even on the hottest days. In addition, aluminum is resistant to corrosion and has a virtually unlimited service life.

The ventilation system in the troughs works on the basisnatural convection - warm air rises upward, creating a constantflow through the ventilation ducts. This solution, although seemingly simple, isthe result of hundreds of hours of testing and computer simulations. We had to findthe perfect balance between effective ventilation and moisture protection.

We paid special attention to the places of connectionof the peritoneum. In the SafeCore system, all connections are made through special technical chambers in the troughs. They are not only protected from weather conditions, but also easily accessible during service. Moreover, each connection is monitored by a temperature detection system thatwill immediately detect potential problems.

Another key element is the systemgrounding. Each trough is connected to the grounding system of the building, creating an additional layer of security. In the event of any insulation damage, the current will be immediately discharged to the ground, protecting both the installation and the building.

The whole system is modular and mounted by the preposition of the roof sheathing. This solution eliminates the need fortemporary fixings and significantly simplifies the subsequent service. Each elementof the system can be easily replaced without violating the integrity of the roof.

Our tests show that the cables in the SafeCore system reach temperatures 15-20 degrees lower than in traditional installations.
