Electrical installation on the roof

A. Conducting wiring
Before you begin installing eTile panels, make sure that the cable trays are installed correctly. We lay the solar wires in aluminum troughs - this provides protection from rodents and weather conditions. We mount the troughs vertically and horizontally, forming a grid under the panels.
There must be a trough at the location of each Junction Box (junction box). Junction Box always falls between patches, never on a patch. Check this before installing the panels.
We connect the wires using MC4 fittings, always a plus with a minus. Remember that the fittings are of the same type - mixing of different manufacturers is unacceptable. Each connection must “click” - this is a sign that it was made correctly.
B. Use of optimizers
Optimizers are used in two cases:
· When there is shading on the roof
· When panels are mounted at different angles (on different slopes)
The optimizer can be mounted in the cable tray under the panel. One optimizer supports 3-4 eTile panels. Be sure to note the serial numbers of the optimizers and their location on the roof - this will be needed for later configuration.
C. Safety checklist
Before starting work:
· Check that the installation is disconnected from the network
· Make sure you have a set of working tools
· Check that the troughs are properly grounded
In the course of work:
· Use only dry tools and gloves
· Do not disconnect MC4 fittings under load
· Do not leave wires unconnected
Upon completion:
· Check all connections
· Make sure the wires are not strained
· Verify that all troughs are bolted
Remember: if in doubt, always consult an electrician. Better to ask than to risk your safety and installation.
