Laying the membrane and patching

A. Membrane - the first step towards tightness
We always start laying the membrane from the bottom of the roof, that is, from the eaves. We bring out the first strip of the membrane to the adrenal belt - this is important for proper drainage of water. The next strips are laid horizontally with a minimum bet of 15 centimeters. With longitudinal (vertical) connections, the bet should be at least 10 centimeters.
We fasten the membrane to the rafters with staples. Be sure to leave a margin of membrane that protrudes about 20 centimeters beyond the peak edges - it will be useful later when processing.
B. Counterlats and Patches - Precision Matters
After laying the membrane, we proceed to the installation of the counter battens. Here the matter is crucial - we need counter-lath with a size of at least 40x60 millimeters. Why exactly like that? This is the minimum height necessary for the subsequent installation of cable trays, which will conduct solar wires.
We install the battens perpendicular to the counter battens. Here, too, the dimension matters - we need patches 40x60 millimeters. The spacing of the patches is exactly 240 millimeters in the light. The first row of patches near the eaves requires an additional patch - it will be the basis for fixing the gutter hooks and the gutter belt.
C. Checkpoints - check before going any further
Before proceeding to the next stage, make sure that:
· The membrane has the right bets and is tightly fixed
· Counter battens have a minimum height of 40 millimeters
· The spacing of the battens is exactly 240 millimeters
· Patches are mounted perpendicular to the rafters
· The first patch at the eaves is properly reinforced
Accuracy at this stage will pay off when installing eTile panels. Remember — precise patching is the foundation for hassle-free solar roof installation.
When in doubt about patch spacing or other dimensions, it is better to double-check than to correct later. If you have any questions, you can always consult the Electrotile technical department.
